Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Readers !!!
With hope and optimism, we present to you issue 5-6/2023 of Przegląd Odlewnictwa. It is devoid of bad information that was associated with the pandemic and all kinds of difficulties related to it.
We are starting the hot period of fairs for the foundry sector with the Number 5-6/2023.
The successive ITM Industry Fairs will take place on May 30 – June 2, 2023 in Poznań, where the Association organizes, as every year, the Theme Park of Foundry Engineering – the place of promotion and meetings of the foundry sector.
The largest in Europe GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST Fairs dedicated to metallurgical, heat engineering and foundry sectors will take place in Düsseldorf on June 12–16, 2023. Numerous seminars and symposiums, special exhibitions and technological arenas as well as international congresses and cycles of lectures constitute additional magnet for professionals. There will be more than 2 200 exhibitors, 78 000 visitors from more than 120 countries.
The GIFA Fairs are the most important foundry fairs, during which the newest achievements and possibilities of foundries as well as of suppliers of foundry materials, machines, devices and tools are presented. This is the place of meeting international experts, representatives of industry and of science world. Several Polish exhibitors, including: Silum Casting House l.l.company, Małapanew Ironworks l.l.company, Andoria l.l.company, Innerco l.l.company, and MTM Models l.l.company will be there. At the fair, we will certainly see many interesting new proposals that will serve absolutely new approaches to industrial solutions in the 3 and 4 D area, as well as environmental protection and waste-free production, which are important in the perspective of modernity. As in each edition, the Polish Foundry-men Technical Association will be one of the exhibitors. On its stand the Association will promote the Polish foundry engineering and the presented here Number will be its main tool. The Catalogue of the Polish Foundries and Foundry Suppliers, issued in Polish-English version and featured in this Number, will be distributed during the Fairs. We are already warmly inviting all of You to visit our stand (Hall 12, stand E10).
Several interesting papers are to be found in the Number 5–6/2023, e.g. the paper authored by Piotr Dudek and Jerzy Sobczak concerning current and future foundry engineering at the background of civilization transformation with special taking into account energy and pressure casting. The article of Zbigniew Ronduda presents 30-years of activity of the Polish Foundries j.s.company as well as a Catalog Polish Foundries and Foundry Suppliers.
The enclosed Catalogue of the Polish Foundries and Foundry Suppliers contains nearly prawie entries including 134 cast iron foundries, 37 cast steel foundries, 100 non-ferrous metals foundries and 232 suppliers for foundry practice. This Catalogue is available also in online version in the page of the Association (www.stowarzyszenie-stop.pl). We would like to encourage you to make yourself acquainted with it and to utilize it in your current activities.
As in every Number we present the most actual news from the country and from the world, including reports from foundry related events and from CAEF as well as the list of the new references.
In addition, in this issue you will traditionally find: the latest domestic and foreign news, including reports on foundry events and CAEF reports as well as a list of foreign literature.
