Dear Readers!
The summer is behind us. The autumn has set in on the calendar and all around us for good.
The children and young people have started another school year 2024/2025. The universities will also fill up soon.
Unfortunately, not all students this year are given the opportunity to sit next to a colleague at their school desk. During the September flood, many schools were flooded, some were completely destroyed by the element. There, the kids will wait a long time for the opportunity to continue their education and meet their friends. Let’s support and help them!
Several of our foundries and companies cooperating with the foundry industry were also affected by the flood. We hope that they will be able to get back on their feet as soon as possible!
The foundry industry began autumn in Kielce, where the METAL International Trade Fair of Technologies for Foundry Industries was held on 24-25 September 2024.
METAL is one of the leading events of the foundry industry in Europe. This year it celebrated its 25th edition.
The METAL International Trade Fair of Technologies for Foundry Industry was one of several events organised as part of the Industrial Autumn at Targi Kielce. In addition to METAL, there were also the CONTROL-TECH Trade Fair of Industrial Measurement Technology and Non-Destructive Testing, the HEAT TREATMENT Trade Fair, the ALUMINIUM & NONFERMET International Trade Fair of Aluminium, Technology, Materials and Non-Ferrous Metals and the RECYCLING Trade Fair of Non-Ferrous Metals Recycling. Polish and global companies from the foundry industry came to Kielce.
At this year’s edition of the METAL Trade Fair, the Technical Association of Polish Foundrymen for the first time organised a joint stand – an island for both foundries and companies cooperating with the foundry industry, suppliers of machinery and equipment as well as raw materials and materials, suppliers of software and modern technologies, and institutions educating staff for the foundry industry. You can read more about past trade fairs and the foundry island in an article published in this issue entitled ‘The future of Polish foundry industry, modern machines and innovative technological solutions as leading topics of the industrial autumn at Targi Kielce!’.
On October 25-30, 2024, the next World Foundry Congress will take place. This year’s edition will take place in China, and the main organisers are a member of WFO – Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES). The congress will be attended by a Polish delegation consisting of 33 people, representatives of Polish scientific and research institutions, universities, enterprises and the Technical Association of Polish Foundrymen.
The World Foundry Congress is the most important global event of the foundry industry, which is a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience of specialists from all over the world, industry representatives and scientific and research centres. Its priority goal is to present the latest achievements in the field of broadly understood foundry, as well as to build international scientific and business contacts, all under the patronage of the World Foundry Organisation – WFO.
