Another year of our Association activity and its Foundry Review Journal – Przegląd Odlewnictwa ends. This year is also the last in the ongoing term of office of our Statutory Authorities. It is the 83rd year of the Polish Foundrymen’s Association activity. During this time, we experienced a difficult period of reconstruction after the Ist World War and the Soviet invasion in 1920, the IInd World War and the subsequent years of dependence on the Soviet Union, under whose influence we were forced by our “allies”. We have been actively working in a free country and free market economy for unfortunately only the last thirty years. We have successfully gone through a period of transformation, gaining economic results that amaze partners from the EU and the US.

In this success, Polish foundry industry has a significant position, it is doing great on competitive markets, meeting the requirements of global tycoons.

Throughout this period, our Association cooperated with Polish foundries, supporting them in matters that require the intervention of state authorities.

Such matters include, for example, issues of electricity prices, issues concerning unrestricted access to loans for innovations and related investments, and for the needs of increasing current assets. We hope that the above problems will be noticed by the ruling parties and effectively dealt with.

In this years end issue of Przegląd Odlewnictwa 11–12/2019, we publish reports from technical seminars and conferences, containing
a number of innovative topics that, if implemented in everyday practice, will improve the technical and usable level of casting production.

At the same time, we would like to thank the honorable readers, subscribers, advertisers, authors and all ordinary and supportive members of STOP, friends and sympathizers, for beeing with us during the year 2019 and supporting our activities.

On the occasion of the Polish Foundrymen’s Day 2019, Christmas and the New Year of 2020, we would like to wish you all health, success in private, professional and associative life and all the best.

Let the New Year allow you to successfully implement all your plans, intentions and dreams.

May the entire 2020 be accompanied by understanding between business partners, full of favors from the environment, and understanding towards the initiatives undertaken by the Polish Foundrymen’s Association and the editorial staff of Przegląd Odlewnictwa.
